Onsite SEO Consulting

Whether it be technical, on page SEO or content, I partner with your team to build the best foundations and improve all the important signals that your website sends to search engines.

Looking at at my social feeds and considering various conversations with clients, I believe that search marketers are asking wrong question when it comes to navigating modern search.

Modern search is an addition game, not a game or subtraction and replacement of search engines like Google.

How can I help?

SEO Strategy

Often delivered alongside an audit and content strategy, I will work with your team to create a SEO strategy that either I execute or your team can manage with my assistance.

SEO Audits

If you need a fresh perspective on how you are performing, from an SEO perspective, I will work with your team to audit where you are currently and provide both feedback and training on improvements to be made.

Copy & Content

I help your team plan and create content that meets search intent and aligns with your commercial goals. From keyword mapping and on-page optimisation to new content briefs, I make sure every piece is written for discovery and to convert.

Website SEO Migrations

I manage SEO site migrations to ensure performance and existing visibility are maintained through major changes like redesigns, platform switches, or domain moves. From audit to redirect mapping, I have a steady hand throughout the process.

Measurement & Reporting

Over the last 6-12 months, measurement has become an increasing challenge for anyone working in SEO. The impact of AI and updates from Google has had had a large impact on our ability to measure success. I will work with your team to make the right choice of tools for measurement and create clear reporting frameworks for all stakeholders.

Training

I coach individuals and train teams to build skills and confidence with all aspects of SEO.

Local SEO

Technically this is more an offsite SEO tactic, but there are important onsite SEO elements I help you implement in order to achieve success in location-based searches that trigger the map packs for Google Business Profiles or Bing Places.

Ecommerce SEO

From site architecture and faceted navigation to schema and on-page optimisation, my extensive experience in working with ecommerce brands enables me to lead your team in the best decisions to get you ahead of the competition.

International SEO

I develop and manage SEO frameworks for brands targeting multiple countries or languages. From HREFLANG implementation to localised keyword targeting, I make sure search engines and users see the right content in each market.

Enterprise SEO

I support teams managing large and complex websites with hundreds of thousands to millions of pages indexed. Whether it be crawl budget, site IA or internal linking, I will work alongside your teams to adapt where you currently are towards improved performance.

Video SEO

I optimise video assets to improve their visibility in both search results and video platforms. From metadata and structured data to embedded placement, I help your video content drive engagement and complement your broader SEO strategy.

"Chris is simply exceptional! In addition to being a maven in all things digital marketing and strategy (plus a whole lot more) he is an incredibly kind and collaborative person. He brought results to our business that we otherwise never would have seen and regularly went above and beyond to help and guide us. Chris is a rare breed in that he is both incredibly commercial and intensely communicative - which enables him to tailor his vision to the audience he is engaging. I will miss working and learning from him and cannot recommend him highly enough!"

"Every conversation I have with Chris, I learn something new. He's a trusted advisor to our leadership team, but also an integral part of everything we do when it comes to digital marketing. He's taught me so much about how to think strategically about SEO and digital marketing, but isn't afraid to roll up his sleeves and help us deliver. Would highly recommend Chris to anyone trying to crack the code on digital marketing and needs someone who they can rely on!"

Frequently Asked Questions

GEO, AEO, AIO & LLMO - what are all of these new acronyms?

These are the emerging trends shaping how search engines understand, evaluate and display content for end users. In my opinion, the core SEO fundamentals remain the foundation to all these new tactics:

  • GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation)  – The practice of optimising content to increase a brand’s visibility within the answers generated by AI systems, like Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or Perplexity.
  • AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) – A strategy for optimising content so that it directly and concisely answers user questions, with the primary goal of appearing in AI-generated answer boxes, featured snippets, and voice assistant responses.
  • AIO (Artificial Intelligence Optimisation) – A broader, more general term for adapting content and strategy to perform well across various AI-driven systems. This includes not just generative search but also recommendation models, summarisation tools, and conversational agents.
  • LLMO (Large Language Model Optimisation) – This is a technical approach that focuses on optimizing content. The goal is to make it easy for Large Language Models (LLMs) to process, understand, and reference content. LLMs are the AI technology behind chatbots like ChatGPT and Gemini.

I appreciate that this all sounds a bit overwhelming and is currently a bit like the ‘wild west’, but I have a solid understanding of them and experience in adapting existing strategies to embrace them.

GEO, AEO, AIO & LLMO - do I need to change my SEO strategy?

In my opinion, change is too strong a word, but I think you may need to adapt your SEO strategy in some ways.

The fundamentals of strong technical SEO, quality content, and clear user intent remain essential. However, these changes to search are reshaping how information is found and displayed. I will help you prepare for that shift by aligning your existing SEO strategy with where search is heading.

What is your approach in working with my internal marketing team?

My approach is that I consider myself an extension of your team. For the majority of my clients, I work remotely for a large part of the month, but will then have a day or two working with their teams from their offices. While I am very hands on from an execution perspective, I am also very keen on upskilling your team and passing on my knowledge so they learn and grow as well.

Do you have a minimum fee you charge for your SEO services?

My pricing depends on a variety of factors – the scope, complexity and amount of input that is required. With SEO, I work on a project or an ongoing retainer basis with clients. The best starting point is usually a conversation about your current challenges and goals, after which I can provide a clear, tailored proposal where I will outline the required investment and potential outcomes.

Broadly speaking, one off projects like an audit start at around £2,5k, while retainers that include a range of tactics (not only onsite SEO, but offsite as well) aimed at growing your organic search visibility and traffic, start at around £5k per month.
